You’re producing content for your users and there’s someone in the middle deciding whether users should see your content. I believe very strongly, that we need to agree on some kind of baseline video format if [the video element] is going to succeed.
Flash is today the baseline format on the web. The problem with Flash is that it’s not an open standard. Representing the free software movement , Richard Stallman stated in a speech in that: [] “The use of Flash in websites is a major problem for our community. Flash content is usually embedded using the object or embed HTML element. Often, a plugin is required for the browser to fully implement these elements, though some users cannot or will not install it. Since Flash can be used to produce content such as advertisements that some users find obnoxious or take a large amount of bandwidth to download, some web browsers, by default, do not play Flash content until the user clicks on it, e.
Konqueror , K-Meleon. Most current browsers have a feature to block plugins, playing one only when the user clicks it. Opera versions since Opera Turbo requires the user to click to play Flash content, and the browser also allows the user to enable this option permanently. Both Chrome [] and Firefox [] have an option to enable “click to play plugins”. Equivalent “Flash blocker” extensions are also available for many popular browsers: Firefox has Flashblock and NoScript , Internet Explorer has Foxie, which contains a number of features, one of them named Flashblock.

These are two scripts that allow you to create a precise book jacket starting from the dimensions of your document. Check yourself which one you prefer. The script creates a vector image of your barcode directly into the document. You can then export the images using one of the scripts described in the images section of this post. This script is intended to provide the main text and images on any given web page, and import those into InDesign.
The text comes in with same paragraph and character styles ready for use in your publication. To Redokun’s users: sometimes when translating an InDesign file with Redokun, you skip some of the paragraphs which are not necessary in the target language.

The title says it all! This script allows you to close, save or save and close all opened InDesign documents. This script runs a report on swatch usage.
One click to apply the master you want to the pages you want. Select the Master Page you want to apply, then a paragraph style to make apply the master just to pages containing that style or even pages, or odd pages. You can use a combination of these filters or just one. But you need to choose at least one or paragraph style, or even pages, or odd pages. The basic purpose of this script is to clear out the temporary components left out of the document bounds.
The area to clean up can be extended or restricted via the user interface. This “ObjekteEntfernen” script, much like the one just above, removes all objects positioned outside of the pages. Ever wish you could quickly slide some selected items or everything on a page out to the Pasteboard?
This script does just that. And it also slides the items back onto the page at their original locations when you run the script again. This script allows you to import a list of items directly into a form field to save all that error-prone typing and your sanity. This simple script offers an alternative method to using the layers palette for moving objects between layers.
It also has an optional feature to nudge all items on the layer throughout the whole document or across the current spread. It will append a printable grid of swatch samples to any document.
The script places Worpress posts in the active Document. Not all scripts are technical ways to improve your work. Some are whimsical and amazing, like this one. With this script you will be able to create mazes in InDesign. It just goes to show you the infinite potential of scripts. This is a piece of junk. Very sad. I used to love apple now I hate it.
If anyone has a solution for that Monterey Bluetooth accessories not connecting after upgrade to MAC 0S After upgrading to Monterey, I cannot type my password in the login screen — I have tried everything.
Any thoughts? I have an IMAC Contacts app in MacOS Just beeps and needs to be restarted. No success with any kind of fix, yet. Was told it might be a permissions issue but checks do not actually show a problem. Can someone help me out? Another graphic designer here. Monterey deleted all the files on my desktop and keeps doing it over and over again, all it takes is a restart. The system resets to factory defaults whenever I restart and I have to reconfigure Siri and all else, as if I had just installed it.
Upgrade to Monterey Echo the complaints about all open windows shifting to the MBP monitor every time they are hidden. This happened in Much worse, Now open file! Back to guessing and wasting 9 trials per image. This has brought my photography business to a standstill. Why did I quit Windows only a year ago for this monster mess? I would and did fire people releasing this sort of untested garbage dump of sins — both omission and commission.
Seems slower on my M1 Mac Mini, still feel it struggles with my 4K monitor. I am back to using a p monitor which is better in my opinion for response. Monterey runs very well here on M1, check background apps, uninstall old software. Check what is running on your user load. My MacBook Air fans are continuously running since upgrading to Monterey Laptop gets very hot and noise of fans is very noticeable. Biggest item of disappointment is that the Trackpad Tap To Click is not working properly.
Sometimes it works like expected and other times I have to push to click. Disappointed in this release for sure. Attempts to download a free App. PNG file.

I would buy another monitor if I was confident that it would work but I am stuck now. Any suggestions? Bypassing the mini hub that came with the MBP fixed the problem. I have been experiencing a similar issue. It is very finicky and often requires that I unplug and then plug it back in as many as 8 times before it connects properly.
Very frustrating. Once it connects properly it continues to solidly work. But if I move my laptop I have to go through this multiple times. Keep trying until you get it. Getting a new monitor may not solve your issues. Hopefully Apple will be able to resolve this issue. Upgraded to Monterey and the email is now buggy. Often will not allow you to erase junk mail. Often will not allow you to delete an email.
The deleted mail pops back in. System restart fixes it usually. For me mail was sluggish and would not delete emails nor empty junk during first day. Now Outlook and Yahoo and Hotmail and Gmail all get the color wheel of death if you click on anything in mail list or even any of the drop down actions.
System Restart is not fixing it. All other internet and wifi actions on all other windows work fine like FarceBook or VK East european style facebook or Instagram. After upgrading my IMAC desktop the keyboard will not work. I tried to reinstall the OS tht came with it high Sierra through the internet recovery utility but it shoes the hard drives are locked.
Delete all keyboard types other than U. At least not after 9 hours. Is this a Monterey problem or is it a Canon problem? I have the same issue with my HP.
There was no new print software for it on the Canon website. Then with another Monterey update, I noticed there were now print prefs in InDesign, but not all of them work. For instance, I can print from the cassette but not the rear tray, which makes it impossible to print my glossy brochures.
If I put one piece of glossy paper in the cassette, it falls out of the bottom of the printer! I considered buying a new printer, but they all have terrible reviews. So I am stuck.
Updated to Monterey because of the newest versions of Adobe CC apps. Like, saving a 2MB InDesign file is giving me a beachball for 15 seconds, other apps like Mail and Excel are freezing for 10 seconds while scrolling, etc. These were not issues at all in Catalina. This new multiple undo mode is enabled by default.
The Edit menu also displays the name of the step that will be undone next to the Undo and Redo commands. Use the History Brush tool to paint with the selected state or snapshot on the History panel.
Use the Eraser tool with the Erase To History option selected. For Use, choose History, and click OK. To restore the image with a snapshot of the initial state of the document, choose History Options from the Panel menu and make sure that the Automatically Create First Snapshot option is selected.
A progress bar indicates that an operation is being performed. You can interrupt the operation or have the program notify you when it has finished the operation. You can use the History panel to jump to any recent state of the image created during the current working session. Each time you apply a change to an image, the new state of that image is added to the panel. For example, if you select, paint, and rotate part of an image, each of those states is listed separately in the panel.
When you select one of the states, the image reverts to how it looked when that change was first applied. You can then work from that state. You can also use the History panel to delete image states and, in Photoshop, to create a document from a state or snapshot. Sets the source for the history brush B. Thumbnail of a snapshot C. Program-wide changes, such as changes to panels, color settings, actions, and preferences, are not reflected in the History panel, because they are not changes to a particular image.
By default, the History panel lists the previous 20 states. Older states are automatically deleted to free more memory for Photoshop.
To keep a particular state throughout your work session, make a snapshot of the state see Make a snapshot of an image. Once you close and reopen the document, all states and snapshots from the last working session are cleared from the panel. By default, a snapshot of the initial state of the document is displayed at the top of the panel.
States are added to the bottom of the list. That is, the oldest state is at the top of the list, the most recent one at the bottom.
By default, when you select a state, the states below it are dimmed. This way you can easily see which changes will be discarded if you continue working from the selected state. By default, selecting a state and then changing the image eliminates all states that come after it. If you select a state and then change the image, eliminating the states that came after, you can use the Undo command to undo the last change and restore the eliminated states. By default, deleting a state deletes that state and those that came after it.
If you choose the Allow Non-Linear History option, deleting a state deletes only that state. Choose Step Forward or Step Backward from the History panel menu or the Edit menu to move to the next or previous state.
Click the name of the state, and choose Delete from the History panel menu to delete that change and those that came after it. Drag the state to the Delete icon to delete that change and those that came after it. Choose Clear History from the panel menu to delete the list of states from the History panel, without changing the image. If you get a message that Photoshop is low on memory, purging states is useful, because the command deletes the states from the Undo buffer and frees up memory.
The history list for the newly created document contains only the Duplicate State entry.
